• Books on bookshelf difficult to access.

Organizing Solutions:

• Sorted and purged items

• Moved bookshelf to different location

• Unpacked books from box and put on shelf

Trouble Spots

• Videos stored in lower cabinet where it was difficult to keep tidy and find a particular video

• Lack of floor space due to trunk and couch

• Corner of room was visually crowded

Organizing Solutions:

• Sorted and purged cassette tapes and videos

• Moved videos and cassette tapes up onto shelves - grouped by type

• Used trunk for storage and disposed of couch

• Shifted entire entertainment unit to the right approximately 3 feet to visually open up the room

Trouble Spots

• Area in front of woodstove had become a storage area

• Due to items being in the stove area the room appeared much smaller

• Corner of room was visually crowded

Organizing Solutions:

• Sorted and purged all items in area

• Removed unwanted furniture, stored children's rocking chairs

• Used a wicker basket to store wood sticks that were in a plastic bag

• Moved recliners to either side of the couch

Trouble Spots

• Toy storage unit was cluttered

• Toys are no longer being stored in the family room

• large cabinet took up walkway space into the area of the room.

Organizing Solutions:

• Sorted and purged all items in area

• Moved children's toy storage to other portion of the downstairs

• Positioned bookshelf where books can be easily accessible
